Inspiration
I'm going to base my American project on some influential and inspirational musicians, Hendrix and Muddy Waters being among the few that I am going to illustrate, Hendrix was influenced by Muddy Waters energetic 'Chicago blues' music. Illustration will be my main focus on this project, and maybe even experimenting with type as well.

My final lino prints for the book
my lino cut illustrations for the book 'Angry the Ant'
I started off with mono tone prints, they were then scanned and with photoshop I used a vector path on each illustration
I'm not completely happy with the Lynx print due to the face being slightly too dark! We produced 'Master prints' of each animal in the print room as part of a collectors special edition version of the book; the lynx 'master' print turned out much better than the first initial print, we'll be using the updated version for the finished book.

illustrations for the mini project
Our group has decided on producing a series of Lino prints for our children's book. I am really enjoying this mini project; I am out of my comfort zone, experimenting with new techniques such as lino cut and print media.

The Suburbs
I was browsing the aisle's in HMV a few weeks back and stumbled across Arcade Fire's new album 'The Suburbs' which features eight various album covers. I love the concept. Each image represents suburban America, the family home and car, the lighting and desaturation in each photo lend a sense of nostalgia too.
